Central government has accorded approval for Warangal Airport

The Central Government has granted approval for the development and operationalization of Warangal Airport. With this decision, land acquisition has been expedited, and pending works will be completed swiftly bringing another airport for the people of Telangana. Accordingly instructions were issued to hand over 253 acres to Airports Authority of India (AAI) for development of Warangal Airport. At present, Warangal airport is a non-operational Airports Authority of India (AAI) airport. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has also directed the AAI to commence the works at Mamnoor.

Telangana government sanctions Rs 205 crore for Warangal Airport

Telangana government has issued orders sanctioning Rs 205 crore for acquiring over 280 acres of land for the development of Mamnoor Airport at Warangal. Telangana is set to have its second airport at Mamnoor in Warangal district, following the clearance from the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Situated roughly 170 km from Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Mamnoor will be the first of six proposed airports in Telangana. The Mamnoor airport, located approximately 175 km from Hyderabad, is expected to significantly improve connectivity for residents of northern Telangana and ease pressure on the congested Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA)
