Bhogapuram Airport, a major upcoming infrastructure project in Andhra Pradesh (AP), is expected to be completed by June 2026. AP Govt forms Group of Ministers to examine GMR's request for 500 acres of land for City Side Development at Bhogapuram Airport, aiming to create a world-class aviation hub, advance manufacturing hub and other service sectors boosting socio-economic growth in the region. GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited has proposed to hand over 500 acres of land, which is supposed to be the Bhogapuram International Airport. GVIAL stated that this land is required for city side development next to the international airport. The government has directed the Committee of Ministers to study the socio-economic development. The government has directed the Committee of Ministers to submit a report on the study as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the government has allotted 2203 acres of land for the development of a airport in Bhogapuram. GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited has submitted a proposal to allocate 2703 acres of land in that area. A Committee of Ministers has been constituted to study the allocation of additional 500 acres of land.
